Barbershop POS for shops in the USA

getbarberpos is a barbershop POS built for how US shops actually run: booth renters and commission barbers on the same floor, walk-ins mixed with the book, tips mostly on card. One flat price per shop, from $15 a month for a single chair to $39 for up to 10 chairs, with a 30-day free trial and no card needed.

  • Solo Chair$15/mo
  • Full Shop$39/mo
  • Multi-Shop$89/mo
  • Plus sales tax where it applies, added at checkout.

How does sales tax work for a US barbershop?

Sales tax in the US is set by each state, and some cities and counties add their own. In many states a haircut is not taxed but the pomade, oils and tools you sell over the counter are. Some states do tax personal services. This is general information, not tax advice; confirm the rules for your state with your accountant or your state's department of revenue.

getbarberpos lets you set tax rates and tax groups per item, so a fade can carry no tax while a jar of pomade carries your state and local rate. Prices are shown before tax and the tax is added at checkout, which is how US customers expect to see it.

Booth renters usually run their own business and handle their own taxes. Their rent to you is income for the shop. The booth rent ledger keeps a clean record of what each renter paid and when, which is the paper trail your accountant will ask for at year end.

How do US customers pay at the chair?

Most US clients pay by card or phone: Visa, Mastercard, American Express, Apple Pay and Google Pay. getbarberpos works with your card processor. We never process the payment ourselves and add no markup on card fees.

Cash still matters for tips and for regulars who pay the old way. The cash drawer, register sessions and end-of-day report show what should be in the drawer and what each barber is owed.

Renters often pay weekly rent by app transfer. Add those as custom payment methods (for example 'Cash App' or 'Zelle') so rent receipts show how the money actually came in.

How are US barbers usually paid?

US shops tend to run one of three ways: booth rent (the barber pays weekly rent and keeps what they cut), commission (the shop takes a cut of each service), or a mix of both on the same floor. getbarberpos handles all three at once.

Booth renters are usually treated as independent contractors and commission barbers can be employees or contractors depending on how the shop is run. That classification has real legal and tax weight; this is general information, so confirm it with your accountant or an employment lawyer.

Tips go to the barber. getbarberpos records card and cash tips per barber and prints a payout sheet at close, so nobody argues about Saturday's tips on Tuesday.

Running a shop in United States: what to know

Barber licensing is by state
Each state has its own board that licenses barbers and barbershops, with its own hours, exams and shop inspection rules. General information only: check with your state board before you open or add chairs.
Tip reporting
The IRS has recordkeeping and reporting rules for tips received by employees. A per-barber tip record helps, but how it applies to your shop depends on who is an employee. Confirm with your accountant.
Client data and texting
Text reminders and marketing messages are covered by federal and state rules on consent. Only message clients who agreed to it, and send through a messaging provider that handles opt-outs. This is general information; confirm with your provider or a lawyer.
The working week
Many shops open Sundays and close Mondays, and Saturdays carry the heaviest book. Set opening hours per shop and per barber so the online booking page only offers real slots.

Questions from shops in United States

Q01How much is getbarberpos in the USA?

Solo Chair is $15 a month, Full Shop is $39 for up to 10 chairs, and Multi-Shop is $89 with three locations. Prices are in USD, plus sales tax where it applies.

Q02Is the price per barber?

No. Prices are per shop, not per barber. Adding a sixth or ninth barber to a Full Shop shop does not change the bill.

Q03Do you take a cut of card payments?

No. getbarberpos works with your card processor and adds no markup. Your processing fees are between you and your processor.

Q04Can I try it before I pay?

Yes. The free trial is 30 days and no card is needed to start.

Q05Does it track booth rent?

Yes. The booth rent ledger records each renter's rent, due date and paid or late status, with a receipt for every payment.

Q06Which languages does it support for US shops?

English and Spanish are both shipped, so barbers can use Spanish while the owner uses English. Arabic and Urdu are also available.

Q07Do you charge for new clients who book online?

No. There is no new-client commission. Your booking page is yours and every client who books through it is yours.

Q08Can I cancel any time?
