At the end of this article you will have a working getbarberpos account for your shop, an owner login only you control, and a business name and plan set. Nothing is live for clients yet. You will set up taxes, chairs, barbers and services in the next articles. The free trial runs for 30 days and does not ask for a card.
Before you start
- An email address you check every day. Password resets and receipts from us go there.
- Your shop’s trading name, the way you want it printed on receipts.
- The country you operate in (USA, UAE or Pakistan). This sets your currency and date format.
- A rough count of chairs and barbers, so you pick the right plan.
- A strong password you have not used anywhere else.
Steps
- Open the sign-up page. Click Start free trial on any page of this site. The form opens in your browser. Nothing to download.
- Enter your business details. Type the business name, pick your country and your currency. USA shops pick USD, UAE shops pick AED, Pakistan shops pick PKR. Set your time zone so your queue and appointment times line up with the clock on the wall.
- Pick a plan. Choose Solo Chair, Full Shop or Multi-Shop. If you are not sure, start with Full Shop for any shop with more than one chair. Prices for your country are on the pricing page. You are not charged during the trial.
- Create the owner login. Enter your name, email and a username, then set your password. This first user is the owner. It has every permission, so do not share it with staff. Each barber gets their own login later.
- Confirm and log in. Submit the form and log in with the username and password you just set. You land on Home, the dashboard. It will look empty. That is normal.
- Look around the left sidebar. You will see Home, Users/Staff, Contacts, Products, Purchases, Sell, POS, Stock transfers, Expenses, Payment accounts, Reports, Bookings and Settings. You will use most of these in the next eleven articles.
- Bookmark the login page on the front-desk device. On a tablet, add it to the home screen so it opens like an app.
Common mistakes
- Using a staff member’s email for the owner account. If they leave, you lose access to password resets. Use the owner’s own email.
- Picking the wrong currency. Currency is set at business level. Fix it now in Settings before you record a single sale.
- Sharing the owner password. Give barbers and the front desk their own logins with limited roles. See Add chairs and barbers.
- Signing up twice. If you made two accounts by accident, keep one and tell support at so we can close the other.
- Waiting until the last day of the trial to set up. Give yourself a quiet morning in week one to go through these guides.
