getbarberpos vs Booksy for barbershops

Booksy is a booking app with a big client marketplace; getbarberpos is a full barbershop POS with a booth rent ledger and walk-in board at one flat price per shop. Booksy starts at $29.99 a month plus $20 per extra staff member; our Full Shop plan is $39 for up to 10 chairs. Prices checked October 18, 2026.

The fair verdict

If you need new clients to find you through a consumer app, Booksy's marketplace is the main reason to stay. If your chairs are already full of regulars and walk-ins, and you want booth rent, tips and retail in one register at a flat price, getbarberpos costs less as soon as you have two or more barbers.

Where Booksy is stronger

  • Booksy's consumer app can bring you new clients who would never have found your shop on their own.
  • Booksy is widely known by clients, so many already have the app installed and an account ready.
  • Booksy has its own payments and card reader, so there is one company to call for booking and card problems.

Who should stay: Stay on Booksy if a meaningful share of your new clients comes from the Booksy marketplace and you are happy paying for it. A new shop in a new area may get more from the marketplace than it pays in fees.

Where getbarberpos is stronger

  • One flat price per shop, so adding barbers does not raise the bill.
  • No commission on new clients: anyone who books through your page is yours.
  • A real booth rent ledger and a walk-in board built into the same register as tips and retail.
  • Use your own card processor, and run the shop in English, Spanish, Arabic or Urdu.

Questions shop owners ask

Q01Is getbarberpos cheaper than Booksy?

For a shop with two or more barbers, usually yes. Booksy charges $29.99 plus $20 per extra staff; getbarberpos is $39 flat for up to 10 chairs. Prices checked October 18, 2026.

Q02Does getbarberpos have a client marketplace like Booksy?

No. You get your own booking page to share, but no consumer app that sends you new clients. That is the biggest thing Booksy has that we do not.

Q03Does Booksy charge for new clients?

Booksy's Boost feature charges a commission on the first visit of new clients it brings from the marketplace. Check their current terms. getbarberpos charges no new-client commission.

Q04Can I import my Booksy clients?

Yes, by CSV. Export your client list from Booksy and import it into getbarberpos. There is no direct API connection between the two.

Q05Can I keep Booksy for bookings and use getbarberpos as the register?

You can, but you would be paying for two systems and keeping two client lists. Most shops pick one book.

Q06Does getbarberpos track booth rent?

Yes. Each renter has a rent amount, due date and paid or late status, with a receipt for every payment.

Q07Will my card fees change?

With getbarberpos you use your own processor, so your rates are whatever you agree with them. We add no markup.

Q08Where do these Booksy prices come from?

From public pricing guides cited on this page, checked on October 18, 2026. Vendors change prices, so check Booksy's site before you decide.
