#1 Commission · the split, settled
Barber commission tracking that does the split for you
getbarberpos does barber commission tracking on every ticket. Set rates per service, per product and per barber, add tiers that pay more past a target, or run hybrid rent-plus-commission deals. On payday the payout report shows each barber's sales, commission, tips and deductions, worked out the same way every time.

Why does payday take the whole morning?
Commission sounds simple: barber gets a percentage. Then the senior barber gets more than the new one, product pays a different rate than services, the shop takes a supply fee, and once someone passes a weekly target the rate goes up. Now it's a spreadsheet only one person understands.
Mistakes get noticed fast. A barber who thinks they're short will check, and if the numbers come from a spreadsheet there's no way to show them where each figure came from. That's how good barbers end up leaving.
Plenty of shops also run mixed deals: a couple of barbers rent, a couple are on commission, one pays reduced rent plus a smaller cut. Most tools handle one model and leave you to do the rest by hand.

How does commission go from the ticket to the payout?
Pick a default service commission and a product commission. Override them per service, like a lower rate on kids' cuts, or per product.
Give each barber their own rate if they differ, choose whether it's worked out before or after discounts, and add any fixed fees.
Pay one rate up to a sales target and a higher rate past it, per week or per month. getbarberpos moves barbers up the tier as they sell.
For a barber who pays reduced rent plus commission, link their rent ledger and commission rate. Both land on the same statement.
Every service and product on a ticket is credited to the barber who did it. Split a ticket when two barbers share a client.
On payday, open the payout report for the period. It lists sales, commission, tips, rent owed and deductions per barber, with the total to pay.

FAQ · 8 questions
Barber commission: questions owners ask
Q01Can each barber have a different commission rate?
Yes. Set a shop default, then override it per barber. A senior barber and an apprentice can earn different rates on the same service.
Q02Can product commission be different from service commission?
Yes. Services and products have separate rates, and you can set a specific rate on any single product, like a higher cut on a house-brand pomade.
Q03How do commission tiers work?
You set sales targets and the rate for each band, per week or month. When a barber's sales pass a target, the higher rate applies either to sales above the line or to the whole period, depending on how you set it.
Q04Can a barber pay rent and earn commission at the same time?
Yes. A hybrid barber has a rent cycle in the booth rent ledger and a commission rate. The payout report shows both and nets them so you see one balance.
Q05Is commission worked out before or after discounts?
You choose. Most shops pay commission on the price after discounts so the shop isn't paying out on money it didn't take, but some pay on full price.
Q06Can the shop take a supply or product fee out of commission?
Yes. Add a fixed or percentage deduction per barber, per period. It shows as its own line on the payout statement so the barber can see it.
Q07What if two barbers work on the same client?
Split the ticket by line or by percentage. Each barber gets commission on their part, and the payout report reflects the split.
Q08Can barbers see their own commission during the week?
Yes. With staff permissions set, barbers see their own sales and commission so far, which helps them chase their tier. They can't see anyone else's.
