Barbering in Abu Dhabi

Abu Dhabi moves at a steadier pace than Dubai. Many gents salons are run by the same owner for years, serve families and regulars, and know their clients by name. Emirati clients often book for kandura-ready grooming before weddings, Eid and national occasions.

The city splits clearly by area. Khalidiya, Al Wahda and the downtown blocks have established salons serving residents and office workers, while Mussafah and the industrial areas have high-volume, lower-price salons that serve workers in the evenings and on rest days, almost all in cash.

Licensing goes through the Abu Dhabi Department of Economic Development (ADDED), with services handled through the TAMM government portal. Owners with more than one branch often have one in the city and one in Mussafah or Khalifa City, with very different price lists.
